SIMPLE PRESENT/ PRESENT CONTINOUS/ PRESENT PERFECT

SIMPLE PRESENT

-FORM=   I /you/ we/you /they             live (don’t live)

                  He / she /it( Mary/ John      lives   (doesn’t live)

-USE: habits, facts ,regular activities

Examples:

 -I live in Badalona

-I have 2 brothers

-My fathers works  as a carpenter

-I play football

-Summer starts on the 21^st of June

PRESENT CONTINOUS

-FORM=  I                            am  studying     (am not studying)

               You/we/you/they    are  studying    (aren’t studying)

                He/she/ it               is    studying     (isn’t studying)

-USE=  things that are happening at the moment of speaking (actions in process, now,

Examples:

-I am watching a film

-You are learning English

PRESENT PERFECT

-FORM=I / you/ we/ you/ they=  have bought ( haven’t bought)

              He/she                      = has bought= (haven’t bought)

-USE=  actions which started in the past but continue to the present, or you can see its result in the present

Examples:

-I have washed my face this morning

-I have bought a new dress
